Project Overview:

This project involved the construction of a new handicap accessible pedestrian connector ramp from the north end of the City-owned Cotton Transfer Bridge to the existing paved pedestrian path that extends along the north bank of the Nashua River. The project is associated with the Downtown Nashua Riverfront Project, which aims to create a continuous riverwalk through a series of boardwalks and paths in downtown Nashua to promote non-motorized mobility and recreational opportunities for the public.

 

The project included the construction of a 6-foot wide, 220-foot-long handicap accessible pedestrian connector ramp from the north end of the existing Cotton Transfer Bridge to the existing 10-foot-wide, paved pedestrian path that extends along the north bank of the Nashua River.

 

Other work included landscaping, rehabilitation of the existing truss pier, rock retaining wall construction, underground utility coordination, relocating existing signage on site, and coordinating light pole relocations.
